This amazing sled measures about 15 1/2" long, 5" wide and is 5 1/2" tall to the top of the curled runners. I have owned many of these miniature sleds and I cant remember having one with a surface as nice as this one. It is a brightly colored red with a hand painted yellow rose and green leaves. The sled dates from the 1880's and is in remarkable condition. There is a tight crack to the wood starting at the middle of the sled and extending toward the tail. There are also 6 holes where something looks to have been attached to the sled. But make no mistake...this painted surface is all original. You will not be disappointed if you win this auction.
