This is an exceptionally large, elegantly crafted late Victorian English sterling silver wine goblet.

One of the largest we have ever owned. It is over 9 inches tall and 11 ounces.

From the well regarded Sheffield firm of James Deakin & Son.

Date marked 1893.

Listed from 1872-2004 at Cornish Place, Sheffield. Known for a variety of hollow and flatewares, of fine quality.

The wine goblet meticulously crafted in classic form.

Tall bowl, gently tapering to stem.

Lavishly repoussed shell and scrolling floral decoration. An array of florals in full bloom. Ruffled leaves and thick, scrolling vine.

Set against fine pebble background. Accentuates the primary design perfectly.

Shell cap, vine framed wavy edge ovals, both sides. Never monogrammed.

Long tapering stem, with shaped saucer form knop to centre.

On thick, stepped base. Continuation of the lush scrolling floral decoration.

This large Victorian sterling silver wine goblet 9 1/2 inches tall and 4 at the widest. Exceptionally thick, heavy guage sterling construction, each weighs 11 ounces.

In excellent condition. Rich, lustreous sterling patina The period shell and scrolling floral decoration retains its original crisp, vibrant hand chased detail throughout. Very slight rim bend and wobble.

Hallmarked to shoulder, as shown.
