Antique 1869! Victorian Music Holder w/ Cast Iron Stand

vm20080217h.jpg Antique 1869! Victorian Music Holder w/ Cast Iron Stand

BEAUTIFUL, ornate,Victorian music holder. Guaranteed and dated to be circa 1869. SAME DECADE AS THE CIVIL WAR!! As you can plainly see in photos this rare piece is in tremendous condition! Eastlake influenced. Leaf and vine carving springs from center (chip or spoon) carved flower and continues down each side. Flower matches wonderfully with the raised flowers on the base. The heavy cast iron base is in mint condition and adjusts with wing nut, so no tools are required. It has a warm copper patina that goes great with the light walnut finish. The center raised panel is surrounded on all sides with bevelled edges. It is made of burled walnut creating a striking contrast to the other wood. The music holding shelf is tapered at each end and is ridged to help prevent page flipping. The only flaw of any note at all is a tiny split at the far left edge of the shelf. (caused by small tack nail). Where are you ever going to find another one like this!?!? It measures about 21 inches wide and about 15 inches tall, depending on slant. Many other unique architectural items listed. All questions encouraged and answered. » Continue reading "Antique 1869! Victorian Music Holder w/ Cast Iron Stand"

Large Victorian Figural Gas Newel Post Lamp Light

vm20080217g.jpg Large Victorian Figural Gas Newel Post Lamp Light

37" Tall victtorian Period Cavalier Newel Post Lampin Outstanding Original Condition. More Detail than can be shown in Photos! Appears that Light was originally Gas and was converted to Electricity early in the 1900's. Base is 6 3/4" wide, Period shade with cut stars and point is included. Great patina shows off bronze and darker brown colors. Details are amazing, long spurs on back of boots, feathers sticking out from hat, Sword in holder at his side. Gracefully draped cape on back, pantaloons billow slightly and extremely tall leather boots, all with striking detail. Shade holder has holes for prisms if desired, looks good either way. Old cloth wiring should be replaced, No chips, cracks or repairs to any part of light. Sword has slight bends but does not detract. Has small hole on top of each side of base for mounting. I believe Piece of gas pipe shows underneath. Overall, beautiful, tastefull and befitting of even the most magnificent newel post or mantlepiece. Shade has very minor chips where rim fits into fitter, can not be seen. As one could expect this is heavy. I don't see any markings. I will ship the shade separately from the rest of lamp for safety. Winner pays only actual shipping for the main box which will weigh 25 lbs but will be oversized at 14" by 14" by 36". Shipping the shade will be an additional $10.00 flat charge. Insurance is required. Payment by Paypal, check or money order is accepted. Please see photos and email questions. Can send more photos if desired. » Continue reading "Large Victorian Figural Gas Newel Post Lamp Light"

AMAZING AND BEAUTIFUL ANTIQUE CRAZY QUILT !

There is no way words can describe how beautiful this authentic victorian crazy quilt is. Therefore I will let the pictures do that, please be sure to scroll to very bottom of auction, there are 24 pictures. Thank you.

Antique quilt was found at recent Estate Sale loaded with fine collectibles. I didn't actually realize how breathtaking it is until I unfolded it on my bed, and it took my breath away, you will love this guaranteed.

Quilt measures 46 inches by 56 inches. This would look fabulous as a top piece over a spread, or used as a victorian throw over a piece of furniture. It would look just as fabulous as a piece of artwork hung on a wall !

Incredibly talented seamstress certainly put in countless hours on this antique piece. If you plan to use this crazy quilt for warmth, you will need to add quilting back, this is only the top, the most beautiful and valuable part of course. ( I have 2 pics of back, one full view and one with corner folded over.)

Many different kinds of fancy stitching, looks like silk thread. Pieces of material are just wonderful and include great color velvet material and silks. I am not a seamstress, so please look closely at the pictures, all 24 of them.

If you have questions please ask, I will do my absolute best to answer them accurately.

This Victorian Era crazy quilt is more than 100 years old. It does show some age, there are a few tiny holes and stains. There is one black silk retangular piece that is starting to seperate, looks fine when lying flat. Please enlarge and look at close ups of this quilt top. This piece is not perfect but so amazing, truely a piece of Americana that you don't want to pass up. I especially like the flowers and the blue white and red piece I believe it represents the French flag, perhaps the seamstress was of French origin. The United States shares the same flag colors.

Shipping for this antique crazy quilt will be $8.00 within Continental U.S. this includes confirmation. Insurance is required on this special piece at $2.45 I accept paypal, money orders and personal checks. Items paid with personal checks are held until check clears, thank you for your understanding in this matter. » Continue reading "Victorian Antique CRAZY QUILT VELVETS SILK Amazing !"
